Birding Specials

The Inn at San Ignacio is centrally located for some of the best birding Arizona has to offer! Madera Canyon (about 17 miles), Arivaca Cienega and Arivaca Creek (about 28 & 30 miles), the Buenos Aires NWR grasslands (about 45 miles), and the Anza Trail at Tubac (about 15 miles) and Tumacacori National Historic Park (about 20 miles) are all close by, as is the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (about 40 miles). Mt. Lemmon (about 45 miles to the base, another 35 to the top), Patagonia (about 53 miles), Nogales and Kino Springs (about 40 miles) are easy day trips. And for the adventurous it's not far to the start of Ruby Road for the trip to California Gulch ~ summer home of the rare Five-striped Sparrow.

The Inn offers special hotel rates for birders from April 15 through September 15 each year. A great collection of reference materials for birders is available at the Inn year-round.

You can get lots of help planning your southern Arizona birding adventure from the Tucson Audubon Society website.
